Potomac

Potomac CSD #10 would receive approximately $74,000 annually if the proposition is approved.

The items for which Potomac CSD #10 would use the additional funds include:

Priority #1

  • Cut property taxes.  Currently, a property tax levy is imposed to specifically pay for facility debt.  Potomac has four bonds outstanding, three of which would qualify for facility improvements.  The district would use the new money each year to help reduce the levy amount, providing savings to the taxpayers.  The district would reduce the levy by 1/2 in 2019 and in levy years 2020-2023 eliminate the bond interest levy entirely.

Priority #2

Preventative repairs including:

  • Fire protection upgrades
  • Plumbing upgrades
  • Floor tile upgrades
  • HVAC upgrades
  • Energy management upgrades
  • Bus garage improvements

Priority #3

Improve educational opportunities and facilities including:

  • Library upgrade to 21st century collaborative learning center
  • Security upgrades
  • Fencing upgrades
  • Parking lot improvements
  • Gymnasium upgrades
  • Construction projects as determined by strategic plan
